This was, once again, an awesome episode. A fab follow-on from last week. The overall theme seemed, to me, to be less in your face 'topical' problem to me. Loyalty and friendship and even scary new weapons would have been a consideration for the time. Definitely more so than all the feed the world type stuff we get from Marian and Robin some weeks.
Sheriff: loved him this week. The Guy/Sheriff scene was hilarious... with him whispering in Guy's ear. My housemates were changing his words to 'I want to have your baby', and the like. Eve was very interesting. The sheriff using the 'leper' to get what he wanted, only to be proved right on his attitude?
Lord Much: *squee* Much was awesome in this episode. Considering recent conversations that he may wander off the path to Robinland, I was a little worried. But, I should have known better. He practically said, him and Eve. His heart and his loyalty, even in the face of everything he ever thought he wanted, including the girl *rolls eyes*, belong to Robin. I wasn't happy with all the insinuations on Much's stupidity... but the slasher in me squeed totally when Robin stuck up for him. Is Robin a knight or an earl, or something else enitrely? 'Cause now the merry men have two nobles. Actually... the sheriff didn't really do the whole thing right... no proper ritual there... and he did say he'd have to get Prince John's (ha! a mention!) permission... which would have taken longer. So, possibly... Much was never actually a noble... everyone, except for the sheriff who knew what he was up to, just thought he was.
Marian/Guy: She confused me, for parts of the episode I couldn't figure who's side she was on. But she refused to wear the ring (I thought it had gotten lost in the leaves in the great!tumble last week) unless he got his arse in gear ;)
Guy: lmao! When the cave went up - the look on his face! Was then a little worried, it wasn't that long ago they killed off someone we thought would be around for a while.
Robin: We got both cockygit!Robin and thoughtful!Robin. I did at one point think that they were going to cock it all up and Much would end up saving the day (which would have made it all even more awesome, but would never happen).
The discussion on whether or not to keep the ledger at the end was very interesting. (Especially with my recent course reading on literacy in the medieval period, but never mind that...) Will, our little Will, has grown up. He's happy to speak his mind when it's something he believes in. He didn't want the book kept. So he said so. :D Allan - guess who was a litle pyromaniac when he was growing up? - just had this look of glee at the whole thought of the 'greek fire'. Robin said the right words and then burnt the book. Then caused a diversion. He knew fine well what Djaq was going to do and let her do it. Robin wanted to keep it. Whether for the power, or keeping his word I don't know. But what this lets him do is, if it ever gets out he still has it, he knows where it's come from. (Not that, at this moment, I think Djaq would do that... but her eyes, the flashing was a little worrying.)
Of course this may make things a little difficult for the threesome... maybe it's back to Will/Allan ('cause Will knows Allan's just a little pyromaniac) - 'cause it was just those two anyway ;)
No tree!porn. What's that about?!
