here's what i wrote for one school's question "what character or characters from fiction, television, or movies have intrigued you and why?"
When I was younger, my favorite television show was “The Adventures of Pete and Pete.” I have always been intrigued by the two title characters, both red-headed brothers. Their penchant for spontaneity and relentless determination, for me, embodies the true spirit of youth. When I was eight I was even inspired enough by the younger Pete’s determination to abolish adult swim time at his pool that I attempted to do the same at the pool in my apartment complex. Regardless of the fact that neither little Pete nor I were successful in our campaigns to take back our rightful swimming time, our youthful determination and enthusiasm is something that I hope to hold on to forever.
