i spent today going back and forth from reading in my backyard in a bikini attempting to get tan and watching TV in the air conditioned living room, all while waiting for a phone call and avoiding the kitchen because on days like this i find it difficult to stop eating.
tonight was nerdfest 2004 with sam at barnes and noble...
perhaps not as exciting as our prospective trip to buckout road, but i enjoyed it.
i like being around millions of pages of thousands of books that i have yet to read. it's the one thing i ever liked when i worked at the scarsdale library. when no one was looking to see if i was actually shelving, i'd grab any random book that looked the least bit appealing (practically anything) and read part of it.
yesterday (at borders) i picked up the latest translation of goethe's the sorrows of young werther not only because the content had caught my attention a while ago but because the new cover is a photograph of a young man kissing a flat, naked tummy. this either makes me a huge geek, a hopeless mass marketing victim, or more likely some mix of the two. either way i shelled out nearly 17 bucks for a book that i could've found for free at a library like ten minutes away. buyer's remorse.
