I've successfully gone to O.H.F. for a month now, Monday through Friday without missing a day. AND...the exciting part is that I've lost 4 pounds =). and not from doing a long run. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but going from 138 to 134 is exciting to me. especially since I've worked SO fucking hard at it and I'm finally seeing a difference. even my stomach looks better and my weight is starting to shift to the right places, haha yay. and I'm almost back to where I was last fall. I think with a little more work, I can get down to 125. haven't been there since my junior year in high school when I ran xc. I was in the best shape of my life then. hopefully I'll get there by the end of the summer 'cause that would make me really happy. I've been really trying to watch what I eat too. I think I've done a decent job. also, in the past month, I've only drank twice. that number should be zero but here's my problem. that 2-3 month period where I was drinking more often has made me a little bit weak in that I'm not so inclined to turn down a drink =/. and the people I drank with during that time now invite me out to the bar and can't understand why I want to quit. most people probably wouldn't even call having a few drinks once a week drinking, but my standards say it counted as such. so case and point argument to myself is that if I hadn't started, I wouldn't ever want to again in the first place. I guess one good thing about it is that now I can say that I know why so many people do it all of the time. it does make me more social and I usually do have a good time. but it still really isn't me. I'd rather just get in shape and feel better about myself. I just need someone to do it with me. I'm finding as I get older that it's harder and harder to find people I have stuff in common with. almost everyone I know, even friends who didn't used to, drink. I'm actually less picky about who I spend my time with, but more picky about who I'll work with at to build a solid friendship. I guess I'd still rather have 2 or 3 great friends than a laundry list of acquaintances. iono. well, now it's time for my workout, then baking for tonight's potluck, then maybe laying out in the sun. outtie.
