Chapter 3: Unexpected surprises
"Well, this is a sight, isn't it?" Kibum says, a slightly amused smile on his face.
He had immediately headed back as soon as his filming was done for the day after receiving a rather "urgent" phone call from Leeteuk. The conversation that had been held those last 45 minutes was now a blur in his mind. Kibum could vaguely remember the words 'murder', 'bunny' and 'date' being mentioned.
And now here he was, leaning against the doorframe as he took in the sight before him. Sungmin and Kyuhyun were lounging on opposite ends of the couch, a gloomy look on Sungmin's face as he clutched a sad-looking toy bunny while Kyuhyun was busy with the game console in his hands, muttering words under his breath as he swore at the 2-D characters on the screen. Eunhyuk and Donghae were situated in a corner with Donghae hugging the life out of the other. Leeteuk, on the other hand, did not seem to notice the younger members lack of response to him as he was frantically pacing across the living room floor while ranting on.
"You have really got to stop smothering them, Teukkie-hyung," Kibum says as he sees the agreement in Sungmin's eyes as he says this. "And Donghae," he says as he turns his head to look at the other two. "Eunhyuk looks like he won't be able to breathe if you hug him any tighter."
This immediately makes Donghae loosen his hold around Eunhyuk, who now looks like a drowning man who has finally gotten oxygen into his system as Leeteuk finally calms down. After a few silent moments, Kangin emerges from his bedroom. "Oh good, it's finally over," Kangin says with a sigh of relief that causes Leeteuk to give him a look that the others interpret as something along the lines of 'You're not getting anything tonight.'
Everyone hears a click as the front door opens and they wait for whoever it is to enter the room. Ryeowook and Yesung walk in. There's an ecstatic look on Ryeowook's face as he quickly heads to the kitchen while shouting, "I'm going to make dinner for everyone!"
The questioning looks that are currently pasted on the rest of the members' faces had Yesung answering. "Zhou Mi and Henry decided to spend the rest of their vacation in Korea so they called Ryeowook to tell him that their flight should land by tomorrow morning. Shindong's coming later after he helps Nari with some stuff."
They all nodded, knowing exactly how rare it was now to get most of the members together without their busy schedules getting in the way. They knew Siwon had gone to stay with his parents for a few days since it had been awhile since the last time he had visited them. Hell, since they all had last seen their parents.
Just then, everyone turns their head to the hallway as they hear a loud thud followed by the sound of a screeching cat and Hangeng's voice shouting, "Heechul! Get Heebum to stop sticking his claws into me! And why is he even on my bed in the first place?!"

Siwon has left his parent's house earlier than intended. He had thought that being away from the others would have made clearing his mind easier, given him time to sort out whatever it was that was making him feel this way.
It had done no such thing. The silence and time only served to make him linger more on that one night. Of those soft touches that had sent thrills down his spine and those eyes that had told him more than words could...
Closing his eyes, Siwon hits a nearby wall, leaning his head against it as his shoulders slump down. You're sick, a voice in his head tells him. And he knows it's right because that's exactly how he feels at the moment.
After a few minutes, he starts to straighten out, shoving those thoughts aside once again where he knows will plague him once he's alone again tonight. Siwon tries to attempt smiling a few times. After his 8th try, he's confident enough to say it's decent enough to fool the rest of the members. He'd have to make note to remember to keep that smile on, to act as if he wouldn't be watching him. And most importantly, he had to make sure that Kibum never found out what has happened, of that one tiny slip-up.
"Siwon, what are you doing here?"
He turns, flashing the other a smile. "I just decided to come back early after hearing that Zhou Mi and Henry would be here in Korea. By the way, how's Nari, Shindong?"
As he sees Shindong smile widely at the mention of his fiancée and begin an animated conversation, Siwon tunes out the world for a bit and lets his mind wander for just that moment.
Just keep smiling, Siwon tells himself as the two begin to head to the dorm.

"These violent delights have violent ends,
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder.
Which as they kiss, consume."
"How do you stand to read all this stuff anyway?" Donghae asks, a bored look on his face as he listens to the sound of running water behind the closed door in front of him.
Kibum rolls his eyes. "Your question is like me asking you what makes you think that aliens exist."
"They do exist! Haven't you seen them in movies like Star Trek? It's a sign!"
Kibum's about to retort with some of his own references on how stuff they show in movies are all fake and he should know that himself because he's an actor when the door opens, revealing a slightly sleepy-looking Eunhyuk, water dripping from the tips of his hair and onto the over-sized t-shirt that hung loosely from his shoulders. "What time is Zhou Mi and Henry arriving at the airport again?" Eunhyuk asks as he rubs his eyes in obvious exhaustion.
"Leeteuk says that they'll probably be here pretty early in the morning to avoid a crazy mob of fans," Kibum says as he picks up his battered-up copy of Romeo and Juliet and heads out of the room. There's something about the way Donghae is staring at Eunhyuk that makes him feel that he should leave. "Good night, you two."
"Night..." Eunhyuk says as he feels Donghae pulling him down onto the floor and into a hug before Kibum can close the door. Eunhyuk unconsciously relaxes under Donghae's touch as he feels the younger stroke his wet hair and tuck his head under his chin.
"Go to sleep. You'll see them in the morning," Donghae says softly, knowing the blonde in his arms was already halfway there.
Kibum closes the door, leaving the two in their own little world. He leans against the door for a moment, thinking of that one person. He misses the way that person would always hold him when he down, how he could read him despite his enigmatic expressions and the special smiles he would give that were only meant for him.
Slowly trudging to the kitchen for a glass of milk, Kibum hears the sound of clinking plates and the beep of the microwave. Knowing exactly who it was, Kibum just walks straight to the fridge to grab the carton and a glass to pour it into before consuming the white beverage whole in one large gulp.
He looks up, about to say good night to Shindong when he realizes that the person in his line of sight is not him. His heart skips a beat, even if his face reveals nothing.
"Siwon," Kibum says. He doesn't know what happens next until the feeling of his arms around Siwon registers in his head that he realizes he had stepped forward. "I miss you." It sounds so unlike him, he knows, but Kibum wants to be honest for just this once.
Siwon closes his eyes as he returns the hug, his resolve threatening to break under the gesture Kibum has made. "I miss you too. So much."
Something in Kibum's mind is telling him that there's something off in Siwon's tone, in the way he's holding him. But Kibum doesn't want to question Siwon now, if only to make the moment last a little longer.
The two fail to realize the person who is standing silently at the doorway, watching them intently before he leaves, back to the confinements of his room.
