Woo i've been busy!
Heh, sorry I haven't updated much lately. I feel like i'm not doing all that much, but then a week goes by and i realize that I should have written something down.
Let's see, last weekend was pretty quiet. I spent most of it reading the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Not bad if you ask me. A little silly at times, and not as well written as Harry Potter, but still an enjoyable read.
I don't think anything all that exciting happened over the weekend. We had in-n-out at some point. I think that was friday. Was very tasty.
Monday was an interesting day, we had a lecture at 11:30, (they gave us lunch) on ethics. The lecture was 3 hours long. Pretty crazy. There were two speakers, the first was much better than the second. But i do feel like i gained something out of it, which is a plus. Although, i probably could've gained that without the 3 hours spent outside of the lab.
Tuesday was pretty quite. Spent most of the day in the lab. We finally resolved what value to set our X and Y magnetic fields to so that we could maximize the time we could hold the plasma without losing more than half the electrons. But then it turned out that wasn't the reason our profiles were coming out strangely so the week diversion was mostly just side stepping instead of moving forward. But now we're back on track and headed in the right direction again.
Today was somewhat silly. My lab partner was not really in the mood to get much work done, so we didn't get a ton done. We tried to print up some radio profiles, and they looked odd, so we changed some settings and they still looked odd. We're not really sure what is causing the plasma to damp itself out so quickly, but we'll have to figure it out eventually.
We had another meeting at 5 that fed us. Tonights meeting was on how to write a personal statement. A useful thing to know how to do. The presenter said basically what i expected to hear, but some of her tips and tricks will be useful. Then we were fed, beef and broccoli over fried rice. Yum. Afterward, a few of us walked over to the movie theatre to get tickets for the new batman movie that comes out tomorrow at midnight. About ten of the twelve of us are all going to see the midnight showing. Pretty exciting. That'll be after swing dance too, so i'll be soooooo worn out Friday.
Friday i will probably work most of the day and then after that I'm going out with Averi and her friend from home to celebrate her 21st birthday. Should be pretty fun. Going to be pretty crazy after the movie thursday night tho. So maybe I'll have lots of interesting things to say on Saturday. who knows.
