Days go by
Tuesday:
Woke up and went to a 2 hour safety meeting at 10 that didn't have very much to do with anything i'd be doing in a lab ever. Mostly chemical stuff, and since i'll be more likely to work with high voltage and magnetic fields and radiation, it could've been more tailored to our safety worries. Ah well. After that was group meeting till 2. Then worked in the lab. I now know how to do a function on the computer that no one else in the lab knows how to do. Which is kinda cool. I can also start the machine by myself and get a wave mode going and take data on it with no one else around. Pretty cool if you ask me.
Tuesday night, we (nicole, isabella and i) cooked dinner for the other people in the program. Basically a beef stew that was oh so tasty. Was pretty cool. This whole community cooking thing has been nice. I really do like the people here. They're nice. After dinner we watched a few episodes of The Office and then wandered off to bed.
Wednesday:
Woke up and went to work around 9:30. (got Jamba Juice on the way! :-D that was exciting). Fun day at work. Fiddled with the machine till my lab partner Joey showed up around 11:30. Went to lunch with nicole around 12:30 and back in the lab by 1:30. Then had to go to a meeting that i didn't really learn very much from about how to write a scientific paper. Partly because the woman mostly talked about personal statements. Which, while that is something i need to know about, there is a whole other talk on that topic later. So i was frustrated. But there was food after. so that was cool. Then i played some tennis (mostly just hitting balls back and forth) with Erica and Isabella. That was fun. Haven't played tennis since... Thousand Oaks i think.
After that i went and hung out with ernie and brandi in ernie's apt and we played some guitar hero, and i baked a cupcake cake for ernie's birthday tomorrow. We also listened to Dave Chapelle and Dane Cook. Fun times.
Now off to bed for another fun lab filled day.
