Can't believe it...
I'm so irate right now. I was accepted to SJSU on the proviso that I show them that I graduated by the second semester. Fine, right? All my requirements have been met since August, and I officially graduated in December. So I sent them a certificate of completion (since diplomas aren't ready until four months after graduating). Turns out they wanted transcripts with a degree posted on it. Okay, first off, they HAVE my transcripts. Secondly, the letter of completion states that I've met all requirements for graduating.
But if they want transcripts, hey, I'll give them transcripts. Only the university does not post the degree on your transcripts until some time in February. They told me I could come down and make a special case of it and probably get it done, but that as a rule, degrees are not posted so soon after graduating.
So I write a letter to the lady in charge. You have my transcripts, you have my certificate of completion. Do I really need to go to Davis and make a special case of it?
She rights back that I should have been graduated before the first day of grad school, that I will be put back to undergraduate status, have to reapply in the Fall and to boot, I only get 6 transfer units.
Bullshit. I'm not taking that.
I HAVE MET ALL REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION. THEY KNEW MY SITUATION WHEN THEY ACCEPTED ME. I HAVE PROVEN MYSELF AS SERIOUS ABOUT MY ACADEMIC CAREER BOTH BY GRADUATING IN THREE YEARS FROM DAVIS AND IN GETTING STRAIGHT A'S THIS FIRST SEMESTER OF GRAD SCHOOL.
I will not accept them relegating me. I'll be on the phone today bitching her out until she gives me what I deserves. And oh yeah, looks like I'll be going to Davis next week.
