Rette mich!

Finally saw Nirgendwo in Afrika. It felt very German. Kept reading the damn subtitles, though, even though I could understand it fairly well. Except it took a little while to get my listening/comprehension up to speed. Even managed to remember some of the Kiswahili I learned way back when, so I was picking stuff out there, too.

Kit seemed to be having the language-learning experience that I love - listening to something you don't fully understand and hearing words you know. (I personally like it when reading, too, but I can't speak for him.) I don't know.... it's one of my life's pleasures.

I do not need to be marketed at when I go to church. Yes, I realize the movie is a big deal to all of you, and you're all nice and excited about it. But really, mentioning it from the pulpit every week for the last, I don't know.... month at least? It's getting kinda old, people. Thanks, however for giving me a new phrase to say to death: It's rated 'R' for 'Reality'!

Headache update: still going strong.

And hands are a fucking bad place to have muscle spasms. I think the only places that are worse are eyes and knees.

family, movies
