I'm a little disappointed that I can't be ridiculously excited over the one show I plan on keeping up with this TV season. But I'm fending off any actual dislike of the latest episode right now with hot cocoa and the Winston Churchill episode of Series 5 Doctor Who I just realized I hadn't seen. I mean it has Daleks. BUT. Still. Besides, I can always go watch River Song or Lost Girl off of
havocthecat 's recommendation instead, which I am very much looking forward to. :)
I'm also semi-poking at the idea of putting something up on my Dreamwidth account, so it will stop taunting me with the emptiness. There's no real fannish need to make the move or time to really want to keep up two places for the same reasons, and I suspect part of my ambivalence is that I'd like to spend time talking about other sorts of things too, like making art, or my state's politics (O_o), or photos. Topics I associate more with the non-internet me or at least a different part of internet me that doesn't really have a home yet. (I'm also pretty sure that LJ, Dreamwidth, some sort of photo blog, a website, and Twitter combined would kill me dead with the digital redundancy. ;)
All of this is probably coming from me being either actually sick, or very blah lately, so before I go a few cheering things.
Metafandom was unexpectedly awesome this last edition with the absolutely fabulous
Redheads Who Could Kill Me meta from
amalnahurriyeh (on DW) and an excellent link to this youtube video
Are Anime Characters Caucasian or Japanese, courtesy of
stultiloquentia (also at Dreamwidth, how do you DO those little symbols for that site anyway?) The original post is
here. Though the second one isn't so much 'enjoy' as I usually mean it it's that I haven't seen a breakdown of that question laid out so clearly and with FACTS and SMART OVERLAYS before. :)
Two reasons why I love the internet today:
The .doc File Of J. Alfred Prufrock (T.S. Eliot) and
O Hai Just FYI (William Carlos Williams)
Er...the end? I suppose the thing to be said for lists is that then you don't have to handwave an ending for a rambly post. ;)
