Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah//Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

I've read Chinese Cinderella a few times, since I was in form one, but it never fails to make me cry. It's just like 'A Little Princess' by Frances Hodgeson Burnett. Both these books are tear-jerkers. Whenever I read them, i find myself dissolving into fits of tears and fears.

Seriously, Adeline Yen-Mah is a -really- good writer. Very few angsty books like these can make me cry. Read it.

*edit two hours later*

OH MY GOSH. I just dug up Mandy's copy of 'Little Women' by Louisa May Alcott, and I am just loving it! I haven't read it before, but I've always wanted to read it. (I really hate to admit it, but i'm gaining on it faster than I am on Persuasion. Jane Austen gets really tedious from time to time..)

So, I think my favourite March sister is undoubtedly Jo. I like a bit of Beth as well, she's so gentle. She reminds me so of Noelle. *giggles*

And, and, it's very rare for a book to touch me so much in the first chapters itself. The parts where they gave their breakfast up for the little hungry family made me want to laugh and cry all at the same time. (Heavens, I'm not trying to be pompous here, but..) It's probably what I would've done, as well, given the situation. It's so cute.

I really should put the book down and read some chem, though...
