The other night, Mom, Mandy and myself were in the room chit-chatting for no good reason. My aunt'd called mom and Mandy and I had teased her about how it was -so- easy to figure out what they were talking about. My mom has a few staple questions that she brings up whenever they're talking about certain subjects.
Anyhow, after mom'd finish talking to my aunt, -we- talked. She started on the whole, 'puppy love' thing again before I told her that I loved him. Then she said, (in cantonese), 'Lei zhan hai ho yi tong hoi pak tau tou lou meh?'
Literally translated, it means, "You think you can stay with him until both of you are old and white-haired?"
Read (what she meant): Do you think your relationship will go that far?
And I said, "Well, he wants to marry me and vice-versa."
Then she smiles and starts lamenting her rules that apply, apparently, to any guy who wants to court her girls. *giggles* My mom is so cute.
