It's suddenly summer in Seattle and I am already worrying about how much is--or is not--in my rain barrels. One of them was left slightly on/open yesterday (okay; I left it slightly open) and so a great many drips escaped overnight. I also found myself wishing I'd done a bit more yard work a few weeks ago when it was a bit cooler. Today I shifted eleven geraniums from the pots in which they'd overwintered into the ground. It would have been better had I done so before they'd spent a few days becoming increasingly parched in their pots sitting in the driveway but I'm hopeful they'll recover. I don't know how planting some geraniums could be quite so exhausting and time-consuming but, well, it was. It seems to have left me none too bright as well so let's just move along to the lists:
Birds
American goldfinches
American robins
house finches
house sparrows
white-crowned sparrow
black-capped chickadee
bushtits
Bewick's wren
Anna's hummingbird
northern flicker
crows
gulls
pigeons
some sort of hawk
