Today it snowed. A lot. It was gorgeous. And somewhat alarming, especially as the MoT had to catch a flight back to Boise this afternoon. We ended up calling
Shuttle Express which worked a treat, aside from some miscommunication about the payment. All's well that ends well; the MoT arrived safely home despite a slight delay in her flight.
After she was gone, Eli and I walked up the hill to get supplies (ham hocks, guitar strings, gunpowder, and corn meal). We also invested in a plastic toboggan at Bartell which was very handy for hauling all our goods home (photo to follow if I can get a copy off Eli's phone). After unloading (me) and shoveling the walk (Eli), we took the toboggan (weight limit: 275 pounds!) to the hill nearby where we each had several excellent rides, involving a number of crashes into the curb or near-collisions with parked cars. We may neither of us walk tomorrow, and some of us became quite covered in snow, but it was glorious.
Earlier in the day, there were birds. Where there are birds, there are photos, though possibly not until tomorrow; it's very late. Again.

Chickadee in snow!
The white-throated/gold-crowned hybrid continues to stick around. (Note alarming feet.)
No bird is present in this photo.
My favorite of the day; a very puffy junco from below
A very red house finch
It was an absolute madhouse of birds. Four goldfinches, waiting for room to open up at the feeders
Yellow-rumped warbler in a not-so-snowy patch
The Townsend's warbler has been gratifyingly sticking around, too.
Note lack of yellow-rump.
