Whoa, Rutgers knows how to pack a lot of information into two days!
I'm sitting here in my hotel, digesting everything they went over with us at the orientation. From a two-hour session on navigating the libraries to working the online courseware and the million different ID's and passwords I now have, I am supposedly now fully indoctrinated into the world of online graduate study at the state university of New Jersey. Classes start on Tuesday, and I must say...I'm excited!
The orientation was, in fact, really great. I loved getting to meet the people that I'm going to be learning with online. The woman who runs the program is also very cool and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I also got to meet the professors for my first two courses and they seem excellent, as well.
It's very exciting to be called a graduate student and to be thinking about things like doing research and writing papers. These past two days have really reminded me that I'm still in love with learning...who knows, maybe one day I'll decide to go the whole nine yards and get my Ph.D.
For now, though, I'm just looking forward to getting to be a student again, even if it's only part-time.
So now, here I am, with my new Rutgers sweatshirt on and a lot to mull over between now and Tuesday. Fasten your seatbelt, it's going to be a crazy, awesome ride!
