Playing the Tourist-The Globe Theatre

This is actually a reconstruction, or replica of the original theatre co-owned by William Shakespeare. It's located in Southbank, across the Millenium Bridge, close to my work.

We saw William Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor. Can't say I'm a follower of Shakespeare, in fact I can't understand the dialogue at all. Thankfully this was a comedy and the actors are brillant. (And so along with the audience, I knew when to laugh.)

People used to stand to watch the plays and that's what we did..like the poor of the olden days. (We paid £7 a ticket.) The most painful yet entertaining two and a half hours of my life. I would'nt do it again, for starters being a short person I was already at a disadvantage. Secondly, by the end of the play I could'nt feel my feet.

Outside of the Globe Theatre. There, I'd done it.
