I finally got off my butt and ordered my glasses. I decided to go with Roots purple thin frames. I tried on a bunh of nerdy Buddy Holly style, and got a good laugh out of them but I'm not about to pay 300 for glasses that are just funny, and I wasn't too sure if they really suited me other than being hilarious. So I went with something safe, and a bit cheaper too for "designer" stuff. It was 289 total with the 50 scratch guard thing.
I hope they're ready by tomorrow so I can show my parents, but I doubt it. :S Got the receipt for them at least.
We didn't get the sweet Hastings place, but she was really helpful in that she gave me advice how to improve our application for next time. Pretty much the only reason she didn't chose us was she couldn't be totally sure about our finances, but she really liked us. :( Some student had his parents co-sign. That...kind of sucks for me because it's not like my parents are within driving distance to help me out. We have to plan months in advance for Dad to even get down here for a few days. D:
My deposit finally came through for my frigging class schedule/course selection, but now all the crim 300s that I haven't done yet are gone. Fucccck it. So, I'm stuck looking for the 6 credits of any level of B-Sci to fill up the summer. I . Hate. Science. The only one I'm able to get so far is Arch 100 - Human Origins. It's distance so that's good for me. I'm kind of iffy about selecting something with actual class times because I want to be available for any kind of job at any time, so being all "Yeah so I can't work then then or then" in an interview is most likely a turnoff. But missing one day for an exam shouldn't be bad. So I'm looking for first year distance courses, and it's slim pickings. There are just way more B-Hum, and B-Soc than sciences in the breadth category. I suck at bio and chem for sure. And there's nothing for earth sciences left....sooo maybe I'll just risk it and sign up for a intro to computer sciences course. Some floor mates last year had an easy time with it, maybe it won't be so bad going for an hour a day 3 times a week? :S Ugh!
...NEVERMIND. Stupid computer science. It's like Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 2:30 - 3:30 pm (um lateeeee!! Either go after dinner or before mid-afternoon plz! >: [ ) and the dang lab is on a tuesday! So one fucking course would take up my whole week? Can't do that if I want to work too, and it goes all summer. Still need to get 2 more non-crim upper level so I'll look into sociology I guess. Blegh.
