Peter ushered his team into the briefing room, passing out folders on their newest case - a high-end smuggling ring that moved in the city's highest circles. Once the room filled, he began his presentation with an image of a sumptuous gilt entry hall.
"The Exeter Club is a well known executive men's club in the city for top tier CEOs, or it was until they were pressured into admitting women back in the 90s. What most people don't know is there's a secret second club, still men only, for only the highest level VIPs, hidden deep inside the building. We're talking the cream of the crop people: where no one blinks at cognac starting at a hundred dollars a glass and where they expect not only hand rolled cigars, but someone right there hand rolling them."
"So you need someone to go undercover there?" Clinton piped up. "I'm your man. It takes practice to smoke a high end cigar convincingly and I can handle that."
"Down tiger," Neal interrupted. "You have no idea the subtle ways these men can smell an outsider. You need someone who can convince them they've got the proper breeding. That would be me."
"Neither of you are going in," Peter pronounced.
"Oh, you want all the fun for yourself!" Neal complained.
"I'm not going in either." Peter leaned over the conference table. "I'm sending in not only the classiest person in this room, I'm sending them in specifically to not blend in. We're going there to rattle their cages and see who runs. So..." He turned to Diana. "Are you up for it?"
As Neal, Clinton and the rest of the team gaped in surprise, Diana just sat back in her chair, smirking.
"I think I can take a little cognac for the team."
