I found dishwashing to be a kind of moving meditation when I was young and forced to do dishes as chores. For some reason I lost that, even though I'm currently sans dishwasher. I'll have to rediscover the zen of washing dishes by hand. :-)
I have to admit though that writing Larry is a delight. I could totally hear him saying this bit about Brother Theodore deserving most of the blame for the one broken plate. LOL My favorite bit with him, oddly enough, is how graciously he reacts to Alan's well humored but still kind of a put down comment about keeping him from being interesting. That - in a nutshell - is our Larry: so kindhearted and blissfully unaware of any potential for malice plus using 50 cents worth of words when a nickel will do. /big grin/

Larry was quite amusing. And the scene of believing was beautifully written. It's been a while since we've had a family moment on the show.
Oh. Spoons is awesome. ;)

I remember playing Spoons and Hearts as a kid. I'm pretty sure I sucked at both of them and know my father cheated at Hearts because my mother fessed up later in life. No wonder he always won! (Clearly he missed the part about making family card games fun for the kids. /rolls eyes/)
I had hoped I'd pulled off a good Larry. He's a hoot to write, but not easy. I do wish the show gave us more good moments between the Eppes men. I mean, the end of the episode tag is nice, but so brief, it would be nice to have something during the actual show more often. Consider this my wishful thinking fic. LOL

(Please forgive the slash goggles with which I read this, though. They are permanently fused to my face.)

Believe me, as gen as I wrote this, I did have a wee bit of Don/Charlie goggle testing going on just to see how it would read through them. I figured if I liked it both ways it was a good thing. :-)

Get some rest, hon. Your gift fic will be here when you get back. I'm just thrilled you liked it and rather chuffed I got it in on time - okay on Pacific Time so late for you, but I did manage to squeak it under the line for your birthday in my corner of the world at least. I get partial credit for that I hope. /looks hopeful/
