Charlie woke abruptly: a choked off gasp caught in this throat, snatches of nightmare visions flashing, slashing, across his mind's eye. He shivered, shaken, willing himself to the safety of consciousness.
Ceremonial rifles firing three times in unison...
A flag draped coffin...
Gloved hands offering him the folded flag...
"Bad dream?" Colby mumbled sleepily - broad hand swiping low back and forth across his stomach, comforting him.
"The flag dream again."
Colby rolled on top of him, his warm solid weight a tonic in itself, hot breath trailing down his neck as Charlie's hands roamed his muscular back.
"You know I'm not going to let that happen, right?"
"It's not logical, I know that," Charlie murmured, burying his face in Colby's musky neck. "But I can't stop having the dream. Please..." he pleaded. "Make it go away."
"Whatever you need," Colby told him. He moved down Charlie's body, kissing his way down his chest and belly until he settled himself between his legs, gently sucking his rapidly awakening cock.
The ache of grief began to fall away as arousal swamped his senses.
But it wasn't enough.
"Cole? Can we switch?"
"Of course..."
Charlie fumbled for lube in the nightstand, as Colby shifted onto his back. He slicked Colby's cock impatiently, then prepared himself almost as carelessly.
He looked down at Colby's bare body as he straddled his thighs. Even in the darkness, the crest and curve of each muscle made his heart race. He let his fingers play over taut abs as he moved into position, lowering himself down as he sank breathlessly onto Colby's cock.
Forget, he ordered himself, as flashes of Colby sitting beside him at the gravesite overlaid his vision of his lover writhing, lost in blissful ignorance beneath him. Forget that it's Don in the coffin...
