chainsaw, anyone?

Big tree fall down go boom in our yard sometime yesterday. It's one of three that were near the mouth of the driveway, something like 40 feet tall. Some sort of fir or something. You need a candy-pult to lob candy at the kiddies.

What's the diameter of the trunk (beside being much less than the diameter of the entire tree)?

Towards the bottom it's probably a foot or more. Sounds not very DIY once considering that.

At least that's manageable, if tricky, with a chainsaw. Probably doable with an axe and enough elbow grease, too. Pity I don't live nearby, or I could take a whack at it... literally and figuratively.

I just realized it's going to keep trick-or-treaters from coming to our house.

I use a moat for that.
