chainsaw, anyone?

Big tree fall down go boom in our yard sometime yesterday. It's one of three that were near the mouth of the driveway, something like 40 feet tall. Some sort of fir or something. Anyhow, it landed diagonally across the front lawn and along the edge of the driveway, crossing the front walkway. It managed to not hit the house or the car or any of the other trees. We didn't hear it go over, which surprises me a lot.

But we do need to get rid of it, since it blocks the main way in and out of the house (we can get out by going the long way around, so it's not like we're trapped). We left a message with the guy who does our yard stuff to see if it's something he's able to deal with, but if someone has a chainsaw and is willing to teach wrog enough about it that he won't chop off his arm, that might get the problem dealt with sooner. Or if you suspect it's something we really need to call an Actual Tree Guy to deal with, chime in. Or if you want to have the chopped-up tree bits...

Hm, I just realized it's going to keep trick-or-treaters from coming to our house. I wonder if it will be too cold to sit outside on the far side fo the tree.
