first day
Went fairly well. Worst incident was he took off his seat belt and bolted out of the bus to the playground as soon as they arrived at school. Not totally safe with parents dropping kids off, etc. The solution is a harness that clips to the bus seat and the driver keeping the door shut until his aide is there.
He accomplished a bunch of the mudane auxiliary things: used the bathroom, ate a little of his lunch, visited the lunchroom. The person in charge of special ed called mid-afteroon to reassure me that he was having a great day (and get approval for the harness thingy). We'll see how it goes tomorrow with the full class there (they start kindergarten with half the kids one day, the other half the second day, then everyone the third day). They're working with a picture schedule and a communication book that they think will work fairly well.
Despite the general positive-ness, I feel like a big ball of undirected anxiety tonight. *sigh*.
