I had this goal of finishing my handspun ganseyish cardigan by the Shepherd's Extravaganza. Which is, of course, this weekend. I've got the first sleeve finished except for the last inch of the cuff, and the scond sleeve not even started. Pretty unlikely I'll be done by Sunday ( Read more... )

It claims "about 1 year" but also is meant to be 31 sts = 10 cm and I ended up with closer to 40 sts/4" on the foot part, so maybe it will be a newborn sockie after all. The kit is a translation of a couple of patterns from this book, which I have on order, because *lust* even though I probably won't make most of the stuff in it (check out the stockings near the bottom of the page, and I covet that very first pair of mittens).

Not yet, and I'm champing at the bit! When this kit arrived Monday I was *sure* it was my copy of BGK and almost ran to the mailbox. Heh. I have no idea when the contributor copies shipped, or who shipped them, etc. They did say we'd get them "by the end of the month."

Those socks are hawt (<- I have never used this spelling before, however those patterns justify it).

Are all those patterns from that book?

Sadly, it will be in Norwegian. But these translated patterns have charts that are pretty clear, and I have Knitting Languages, so I'm hoping I'll be able to wing it.
