I had this hand-dyed tussah I was spinning up, and sent a skein of it off for the spinningfiber competition. I weighed it before sending and discovered it was only an ounce, which confused me, because I thought it was half the fiber and that I'd bought four ounces. Today I found the label, which confirms that the package said four ounces on it. So either I paid ( Read more... )

What kind of cartridges do you need?

Epson something mumble mumble. We've got a PS1200 and the old product number for the black ink cartridges is "s020187." R bought the last two black ink ones they had, and we just replaced the color one (which we use rarely) so I think we're set for a while.

yay.

Mom got a cute little printer that is also a scanner and copier, and each color of ink is its own little cartridge (rather than a single multicolor one, which is the one thing I really don't like about the current one), and cheap, so at some point we'll probably get something newer anyhow. Perhaps the desire to print 11x17 pages makes us freaks.

Nah. Makes you musicians.

Heh. That was, in fact, the original motivation. I used to do scores for somposers, and it's much easier to print a big orchestral score on a sheet of 11x17 than on two 8.5x11 and tape 'em.

The only other answer I could come up with was artwork, but I knew you guys were musicians. :-D

The most recent use we had for it was R printing out maps of the legislative district with all the precincts on it for the precinct caucuses some while back. So it's not like we use the feature that *often*, but it's a nice option.

I'd love it for scanning and printing charts a little bigger.

I just got the Canon iPixma4200 or something like that.. 4100 maybe .. anyway, I believe there is a model about two levels higher that does 11x17 pages. I think it was about $400-500?

It has each color of ink in a separate cartridge as well, and does great quality stuff. My one complaint is it's tendency to smudge ever so slightly if you don't let the page BE (so no pulling pages out of the printer...)
