The Captain's quarters were closer to Sickbay than the Observation Deck, so it took Bones less time to make it there. He stepped inside, wearing his casual evening clothing, surprising the staff that was used to seeing him in his uniform, though most were familiar with the scowl.
"Has anyone seen my mother?"
When the answer seemed to be no, Bones headed outside and waited for her, pacing up and down the hall.
Em smiled when she saw him pacing in front of the doors. "Lenny!" she cried out before falling into him for a hug. "Y'know, I coulda just asked one of your ensigns for a hangover prevention cure." She let him go and stood up, only swaying a bit. "G'back to bed, I c'n take care'f myself."
"Of all the- if there is something wrong with you, I want you to call me, you hear me?" he told her seriously, leading her inside sickbay and over to one of the private areas in the back.
A nurse approached, asked if he needed any help. "I've got this, just a headache," he told her with a polite nod. Turning back to his mother, Bones sighed and began scanning her. "So, who is this James? You mean the one who is bonded to Spock and the other me?"
She held up her fingers to attempt recounting who James was in comparison to the other James T. Kirks she had encountered. "He's not your James and not the other you's Jim..." Em waved at the instrument. "Lenny, I d'n'need an exam. Just need to clear the brandy in m'system."
