Entry for March 16th, 2006
for weeks, cast memebers in Icon Area have been staring at signs that screamed, "IT'S COMING!! March 16th." well, now the wait is over. The MATRA is here and running. When I head into work, i am immediately ushered to the back office to get my new ID number and password.
"Where do you work?" The MATRA guy asked me.
"Everywhere," I said.
"Name me specific places," he said.
I start naming them off and he tells me to slow down...and then he only enters in four shops.
CDS sends me to the Hat...which is not one of the places i told the MATRA man.
Sure enough, i get up to the hat, and the MATRA doesn't recognize me as an operator. I walk all the way back down to the office. I find David who sends me to Carl. Carl sends me to the MATRA man again. Laura sees me first.
"What's up Emily?"
"The hat doesn't recognize me as an operator," I said.
"Why not?" Laura asked.
"The guy only cleared me for 4 shops," I said. the guy turns around and glares at me.
"That was stupid. You work everywhere," Laura said.
"That's what I told him!" I said. So the MATRA guys teach Laura how to clear someone for every shop--which she does. Then i go back up to the Hat.
That was the only real eventful part of the day. MATRA is OK. We're all worried that Bill and Urla are going to break another one, though. In our training class, they broke two. They really don't like the machines. Of course, a lot of the older Cast Members don't. They're having a hard time learning it. Most of the CPs have caught on instantly. I guess we're used to things changing and getting better. Anyway, maybe MATRA will help the older Cast Members appreciate us CPs.
So now i have to write a paper and a speech on Alabama football for tomorrow at 8...if you're wondering why i'm up so late. I don't think i'll be heading to bed....what's the point when i have to be up in 2 and a half hours? well, now i have to go write the speech. ROLL TIDE!! later.
