My evening in hell.

Went to the Something Positive meet and greet tonight. I almost forgot, actually. Well, I did forget, and was reminded when I went to see if he'd put a new comic up. It was fun, not as crowded as I'd feared, and Randy is adorable and charming and drew me a picture of Aubrey spitting out coffee, and a special present for frelghra, even though he didn't ( Read more... )

He's not like you'd expect. Much more bouncy and enthusiastic, and better at hiding his general disdain for the rest of the world. :)

Oh no shit. Which is why I kept my inner Aubrey to myself and gave him a tiny dose of sweetness and light. Poor guy probably needed one person not to be a jackass.

Fans are probably the worst part of being famous. And what's wrong with the Green Line? I used to love taking it when I went to BU!
Did the chick behind you ever stop talking?

Nothing's wrong with the Green Line, she's just a bitch who thinks it's cool to hate everything. And no, she never stopped talking. Luckily, most of it was to the guy behind her, when I kept not responding.

Shame the guy behind her responded. People like that can get pretty amusing when no-one is talking to them. It doesn't shut them up, but they start saying the strangest things.

Yeah, he was kind of twinky, so they had fun discussing how everything was crap. I hummed Dance Hall Crashers songs under my breath, mostly the bits about driving me to drink, and stayed in my own space.

I used to lurk around the Something Positive community, but I never said anything, because everyone would just pounce on newbies and tear them to shreds in a really obvious attempt to make Randy think he had met his soulmate in withering sarcasm. Even the moderator would pick on people, and then everyone would fawn over what a 'Queen Bitch' she was/how similar to Aubrey, etc, etc.

This reminds me of a story I heard about Jhonen Vasquez (who also has a lot of arsehole fans). Apparently, he had just bought out his first batch of t-shirts and he saw this guy wearing one, so he went up to the guy and said "nice t-shirt!", and the guy just sneered at him and walked off without a word. It just goes to show that being nice is best!

And that's hilarious, because Randy was being really nice to everyone. And Aubrey's only mean to people who deserve it, mostly. :)
