Well, I'm back in LR, and I can't pretend I'm all that thrilled. I had a blast in Boston, thanks to everybody who made it fun for me, like vampyrusgirl who showed me the zoo and the babies and hung out with me a lot, peaseblossom and jeregenest and their kids and fun at Diesel, and mgrasso for picking me up and having dinner with me, editswlonghair of course, for driving us to the zoo and going to Salem and everything, and most of all jeffwik for letting me stay with him and showing me some of the best parts of the city. He didn't show me any of the gross parts, because I never said, "Hey Jeff, show me something nasty."
Yesterday I wandered around town and used the T all by myself, like a big girl. Went and checked out Simmons, and I thought it was cool, I'll be applying there next year, so we'll see just how soon I can make it back into town. Ended up in Havard Square, just kind of for the hell of it, had lunch in the Garage and just sort of wandered for a bit until it was time to hit the airport. Next time I want a whole day to wander, without any luggage to drag along with me. Luckily it was just the one carry-on, but that was still a bit much to be wandering with. My shoulders are all red and bruised from the straps. And I'm brown from being outside so much this weekend. Such a change from my usual pasty self. So yeah, had a good time, didn't really want to come home. And of course, what with his roommate situation, dear jeffwik really didn't make it easier. So I'm going to go back and probably move there next year. Be ready for it.
The flights were pretty uneventful, especially since I was so tired that I actually slept through the take off in Boston. I really didn't think I could do that, but I was out, and the next thing I knew they were telling us it was ok to move about the cabin. I looked out the window, and sure enough, clouds and sky. I also slept through a Futurama episode the night before, and I usually can't sleep through tv or movies no matter what, so I think it's safe to say that I wore myself out pretty seriously.
Got a call from Zach today, he's having a blast in Austria, and was apparently a bit drunk when he called. Seems today his class went on a brewery tour, so he was getting class credit for drinking. Those wacky Austrians. He had 6 beers in 15 minutes and then two more at lunch, and wanted me to know that the beer there is stronger than the beer here. So. . .that's my boyfriend! Glad he's having fun, can't wait to see him again, and from his pics it looks like the city is just beautiful.
And now I'm sitting here, trying to decide what to do with my day, because there's stuff I need to do, but I'm not in the least motivated to do any of it. Actually, one of the things I need to do is go to Starbucks and get my money, so maybe if I do that and get a drink, I'll be motivated to do other things too.
And Launchcast just decided to play "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes. Seriously. For no reason other than that it's popular, which is good, because I don't think that it fits my previous ratings at all, and I would have been worried.
I forgot to talk about Salem, and going to see Fantastic Four with Jeff, but it'll wait.
