The jet lag has finally hit. Attacked and beaten me down, is more like it. It's been so much harder to fall asleep early, and even more difficult to wake up with a semi-clear head. But I'm working on it. Last night it rained so hard, I thought the roof would cave in. It's been fairly rainy the past few days, now that I think of it. The heat is finally breaking and I think this is the turning point for the weather. One of my favorite things to do is glaze at the stars from my deck-ette. Sometimes when I'm walking at night, I just have to stop and stare because it's unlike anything I've ever seen. When the clouds clear, I can see more stars than I ever remembered. The constellations are clear and easy to recognize. Shooting stars are as numerous as crickets in the rice paddy. Almost feels like I'm a little closer to heaven here, but in actuality, just farther out of the city. The sun sets in Japan and rises in another land.
