Ow, my throat really hurts. I sang/screamed a lot last night. I can't believe it's all over already...
Ok, where do I start? How about with the photo that almost got my camera confiscated? We were to the left of the stage near the front, and while The Getaway Plan were playing we noticed someone watching them from the side. Then a few more guys joined him there and then I realised, it was Circa Survive! I wanted to get a photo, but there was lots of security. I just figured they probably wouldn't notice if I took one itty bitty photo. I was wrong. I don't even think it was worth the trouble for this:
It really is them. You'll just have to take my word for it. One of them was doing yoga before they went on stage! Hehe.
Anyway, this security woman came over to us, and was standing right in my face. I felt like I was a little kid who did something bad at school or something with the way she was glaring at me! I don't even know what she said to me, I just kept saying "I won't do it again, I swear! I SWEAR!" Anyway, I thought The Getaway Plan were quite boring, but I suppose I don't really know any of their songs. Circa were much better, and they have way more energy live than recorded. I can't get past the fact the singer sounds like a 7 year old girl when he sings, but I still like them.
OH. And while Circa were playing, Jen pointed out someone watching them from next to the stage... really short with dark hair, holding drumsticks... it was Tucker! I think I must have just stared at him for ages, and HE WAS TOTALLY STARING BACK. Then he disappeared, possibly because I was acting like a fangirl and scared him away. Maybe he thought he could get away with watching the show without anyone recognising him. Hahaha. So now, we have decided I have the drummers curse - whenever I see a drummer I become the ultimate fangirl and say/do something stupid to scare them away. The same thing happened with Dan before Taste of Chaos.
After Circa's set finished I waited at the barrier for ages for Tucker to come back, but he never did. I wanted to tell him to get Thursday to tour here. Aww!
Then it was MCR. Wow, I don't really know what to say about them. This probably sounds stupid, but I feel as though this whole year had been leading up to the moment that I saw them. They were so amazing. Gerard is easily one of my favourite frontmen ever, and although I don't really know anything technical about music, Ray is a really awesome guitarist! I even got some of his solo on video:
Mikey really seems to have changed since he came back from his time off. He's gone from looking like a 14 year old girl to being so... manly. It's pretty funny. And Frankie is just Frankie. He's just so energetic and awesome, and he cut his hair! He's so pretty! And I assume you've figured out I like Tucker already. It would have been great to have Bob there, but since we couldn't have him, we got the next best thing.
All my photos are pretty blurry because I turned the flash off to avoid that scary security lady.
I'm pretty sure that's Mikey to the left after they came off stage. And possibly Cortez to the right?
The encore was probably my favourite bit of the whole night. Desert Song is one of my favourite MCR songs, so to hear it live was pretty amazing. I got some of it on video, but my camera is pretty dodgy so it only lasts about 10 seconds.
Famous Last Words was the best song of the night though. I just jumped around and sang like an idiot. It was so much fun. Other highlights for me (these aren't in order because I can't remember the order) were I'm Not Okay, The Sharpest Lives, Welcome to the Black Parade, Cemetary Drive and Teenagers. Teenagers is one of my least favourite MCR songs, but it's so much fun live!
Argh, I forgot to mention how awesome the pyrotechnics were! Although I don't know how those guys could stand having them on stage, because I was about 20m away and they felt really hot from where I was standing. Got some on video though:
The whole night was a lot of fun. It still feels kinda surreal that it's over because I've been waiting for this almost all year. They better come back soon!
