Today's lostsquee Luau Queen KC asked for AU Ships and topped the list with Jack/Sawyer which, we all know, is my favorite. ;) So of course I obliged.

The metaphor is so obvious it's painful.
The small, white ball ricochets back and forth between them. They strike, spinning it around, confusing and dizzying its world. The ball seems to be the purpose of the game.
In the end, though, the ball is just an object. Two men are playing the game - the ball is a medium, an excuse, to ignore what's really there, to call their desire something else. They try to hide how drawn to each other they are.
When they finally give in, it's rough with stubble and need.
Neither seems to care who won.
