the stupidness of dancing
last week got a newsletter for dancing telling us that every pupil must now wear leg tan for competitions. but not just any leg tan, oh no, it must be specifically ambre solaire self tanning lotion. and we must apply two layers of it exactly.
and we must have a practice tanning session on saturday at class.
I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't look so tacky. and if there were no chances of completely screwing your legs up. like when kathryn tanned her legs once and went to bed straight after, then woke up the next morning to find a hand print on her legs because she'd slept with her hand in that place.
as funny as it may sound, I don't think I really want to happen.
and then there's the whole makeup thing. we also all have to buy exactly the same makeup. the lipstick must be maybelline mauve pulse and the blush must be maybelline plum solitaire and the foundaion must be maybelline shine free foundation in beige.
but I'm not sure if it ocured to them that not every pupil is going to have the same colour skin. what might look beige on one person could look, um...dark beige on someone else.
and so on saturday we also have to have a makeup practice. so we can see what the makeup looks like on everyone.
personally I think it's all sligthly unnessecary
