Saturday and updates
Well Nick went out to have his taxes done early. We file separately for many reasons. I will file later next month once I go through all my deductions. Being a school teacher has its perks!
Yesterday we went shopping for hours :) We went to the new Torrid store (yea Inland Center!) GNC, Claires, Target, BevMo, B&N, BB&B,Vons and the bird store. At BevMo one of the trucks in the lot was full of snow so Nick and I had an impromptu snowball fight! A lot of fun, especially considering we never go to the mountains. I had never been to BevMo before, but found out from one of my 4th grade team members that they sold Japanese soda there. I got several and plan on trying one today.
B&N was CRAZY! We couldn't find a parking place anywhere. I've never seen it so packed even at Christmas! Nick wanted to go there to get the latest D&D book and I was after Lisa Loeb's the Purple Tape CD. Thankfully we found both. This weekend I'm hoping to go to LA to see Lisa Loeb in an acoustic show/signing. I've always wanted to meet her because she is just so cool and I think if I knew her in RL she'd be like one of my best friends.
At BB&B I spent my $100 gift card on a feather bed, pillow, and new shower curtain liner. Right now I'm procrastinating stripping the bed to put on the new feather bed. Changing the bed is my least favourite thing to do (I'd rather clean the bathroom, seriously), and I get to do it twice! My mom broke her thumbs on Christmas eve and finally after weeks of agony got the right one casted. Now she's trying to figure out how to work with it and she's having a hard time. I've never had a cast on my arm before so I have no concept of what she is going through. We're trying to help out where we can and hopefully having the cast will be a good thing and her thumb will stop hurting when it's taken off in two weeks.
The good news is my dad's myeloma is holding steady and he's almost out of pain. They are trying some new doses of the pain drugs and it seems to be working. Please keep him in your prayers!
Well I need to finish laundry and work on some stuff for school before Nick gets back.
