And so, the search begins...
Max and I officially started the actually looking at buildings/ properties part of our Berkeley apartment search today. We weren't looking in a serious, "We might want this unit," way, but more as a general look-see. I'll be taking notes as we go (I'm neurotic, and its easier that way when you look at several places over the course of a couple months). We're looking to move either early August, or possibly early July, depending on various factors.
Basically, we want a non-uber-shitty apartment within walking distance to campus for around $1200/month or less. Everything else is relatively negotiable, but I've split our priorities into two lists of "Needs" and "Wants". We've decided not to mention the rats (unless small pets get brought up) on the basis that management doesn't usually care about small caged furries, and what they don't know wont hurt them.
