If I say “Lewis Hamilton”, does that ring a bell? I think for most of you it will. He’s in the media a lot, more than he wants sometimes, and certainly more than I want him to be. It’s probably because he’s a good driver, in a good team and gets good results most of the time. Also, because a lot of people find him good looking, perhaps. Despite all of the above, I must say that I really dislike him. There are moments that I like him, he can be very nice in interviews, but recently he’s been more annoying than ever before.
“I dislike Hamilton as I find him not only to be arrogant but also feel that he bends the rules too often for the sake of winning. That and some of his overtaking manoeuvres are dangerous and if he were in a slower car I believe he would crash out of most races.”

www.greendaycommunity.org pretty much sums up exactly why I don’t like Lewis Hamilton. It’s very much true that Hamilton believes he is the exception to all the rules. He finds it easier and more entertaining to “accidently” miss the corners and drive with all four wheels off the track most of the time. Last season - his debut season - people overlooked those things because he was a rookie and they were too surprised at his strong debut in the world of Formula 1. They forgave him the so called mistakes.
However, lately people aren’t putting up with it any more. A lot of the drivers have expressed anger towards Hamilton already, even the ones he was befriended with first. Timo Glock told the press a couple of weeks ago that he was incredibly pissed off with Hamilton and he would do the same thing to him, knock him off the track, next time he had the opportunity. It was Felipe Massa that did that for him today. Lewis Hamilton had just ruined the race for about six drivers when he tried to overtake a lot of people at the start, in an insane and destined to fail way, and out-breaked everybody -including himself- at Turn 1. He caused six drivers to have no other option than to miss the corner. Seconds later, Massa found himself being overtaken by Hamilton, again having almost no space to finish his corner, and was apparently fed up with Hamilton’s behavior and overtook him in the next turn in a spectacular way. Basically he just ignored the whole presence of Hamilton and was determined to stick to his line and this caused him to hit Hamilton’s very hard. Massa ignored the collision, didn’t even slow down and left Hamilton spinning on the track, being overtaken by all of the drivers.
Unfortunately Felipe Massa got penalized for that one, but it was so worth it. It just proves that if you just keep acting superior and annoy other people, they will eventually get fed up and won’t treat you with respect any more.
Now, before I upset Hamilton fans - I am not saying he is a bad driver. I think he can become WDC material, but only if he gets rid of the attitude. If he wins it this year, I don’t think it’s a deserved win. I’d much rather have him win it another year, with another attitude, when he truly deserves it.
