This weekend the Formula 1 took place in Japan, in Fuji to be precise. Because of the time difference between Japan and the Netherlands, the qualifications yesterday started at 6:15 AM. Our time. It was a bit unfortunate, since I hate getting up that early (basically I just hate having to get up at all -_-), but I was determined to wake up early anyways. I would do that for Formula 1. Except that I forgot to set my alarm clock. I mean - I did set it, I just forgot to adjust the time from when I normally get up for school, to when the quali begun.. So I missed it. Argh, so annoying.
Today, it would start at 6:15 AM again. My dad and I had agreed that we would record it on our UPC thingie and watch it at 7:30 AM. So, at 7:30 we were all set in front of the television and.. UPC had processed the recording wrong. For some bizarre reason it had told itself to record who-knows-what on January 1st 2009. What. The. Hell. Fortunately RTL 7 was kind enough to air the race again at a normal hour so we just had to wait six hours.
In those six hours yours truly made yet another mistake. I’d forgotten that the race had already happened and went to check on the official Formula 1 website how long it was until the race started. I entered the url, hit enter and died. The winner was displayed on the website. I hate knowing who wins before I watch the race. Fortunately I didn’t see all the drivers’ standings, just the number one.
