So many thoughts

I can't fully see the screen right now for tears.  This was such a happy/sad event. I took screen grabs of Google Earth as it tracked Atlantis' landing. I'll be posting them later along with a neat video made by the crew before landing.

I have to say, the view from the cockpit right before landing, with the sky lightening at sunrise was absolutely beautiful.

I was okay until Houston Flight said these words after nose gear touchdown: "Having fired the imagination of a generation, a ship like no other. Its place in history secured. The space shuttle pulls into port for the final time; its voyage at an end."
NASA KSC just posted to their fb page: ‎"The space shuttle changed the way we view the world, the way we view the universe," Atlantis Commander Chris Ferguson said soon after landing. "America's not going to stop exploring. Thanks for protecting us and bringing this program to a fitting end."

shuttle, sad, happy, nasa
