Meh

I'm disappointed. I'm here on the outskirts of Houston and we really haven't gotten any snow. It seems like we're not going to get much, if any. Stupid weather. How dare it crap out before I get snow?? The whole rest of the country has seen some (just about)!! Why not us!!

However, there's been enough freezing rain/sleet/snow to cause most of the main roads to close. Mom's really hoping that the conditions are too bad for her to go to work this afternoon. We definitely don't want her to get stuck at the hospital tonight. Then again, she's starting to get a cold - sore throat, very low fever - so I told her to use a sick day, if necessary. She really needs to rest.

In unrelated news, I LOVE the show 'Brad Meltzer's Decoded.' (I still can't italicize in Chrome. Still annoying.) It's on the History Channel, and the season finale was last night. If you don't know who he is, he's a really good author of thriller/mysteries. His latest, 'Inner Circle,' was about a famous spy ring started by George Washington during the Revolutionary War - called the Culper Ring - and what would happen if it still existed today. I LOVED the book. On his show, he narrates and elucidates the findings of his team of three who do the ground work. The thing I love best is his really dry sense of humor. He and his team have taken on such mysteries as D.B. Cooper, the Culper Ring, and John Wilkes Booth's potential to have lived past the assassination of Lincoln. They actually think they found the real identity of D.B. Cooper. That was an awesome show.

That's about it. We'll talk later.

blah, weather, books, snow, tv, mom, hospital
