Life thus far this week (warning: it's been rather crappy)

1. Got my shots on Monday. The doctor still is awesome. PA, not so much. OMFGWTFBBQ does getting injections in facial nerves HURT. Like, getting an ice pick shoved in your eye, painful. I actually made indentations in my palms from where my nails dug in while I was trying not to squint. Will I ever quit complaining about how much this hurts? Yes, but only when it stops hurting. Will I get more injections if these help? Yes. Will I complain after them? Yep. Sorry.

2. Stupid Stupid insurance decided that my face pain needs was not enough of a reason for $250 lidocaine patches. Bastards. So, the doc is kindly giving me all the samples in her office to use to see if the pads will even work, before hassling with the insurance bastards more. Have to have Sis pick them up tomorrow when she goes to PT tomorrow (her PT is at the same hospital where my doc is).

3. I woke up at 7:30am this morning. [craig]I KNOW!![/craig] I have no idea what that's about, but I'm feeling good, so I'm totally not complaining.

4. However, I will complain about our water company. The company that we have to deal with (the only one we can use, dammit) IS HORRIBLE. Like, OMG, what?!? Mom dutifully sent in checks by mail - their preferred method of payment - in both January and February. For some unknown reason, they never received them. So, all of the sudden, we were three months in arrears and they turned off our water. No warning. Just off, as of yesterday morning. So, Mom had to get up extra early, drive 25 miles (1/4 tank of gas) out of her way up to Spring to pay the bastards in cash. The bill was $161 and change. Mom withdrew $180 from the ATM on her way there. It turns out that while they accept cash, they don't make change. WTF?? So she overpaid almost $20, just so they would turn back on the water. That was supposed to be done yesterday. Naturally, they didn't do it. When I crept downstairs this morning at 8:30am expecting Mom to be asleep, she was up and PISSED. Instead of having her call and scream, I decided to call them. After being crabbed at by the receptionist, I was able to get to the owner. I explained that we had two people in the house with the flu vomiting and having intestinal problems (not true) who needed to use the toilets, and that I (acting as Mom) needed to get to work as a nurse, which required a shower and bathroom, and tooth brushing, etc. I told her that I needed to leave by 2, and wanted the water turned on by then. She promised me it would be. Naturally, as I get downstairs at 1:45, the water is still not on. Mom's just about to blow a gasket, so I grab the phone and dial. After talking to the bitchy receptionist again, she tells me that I just have to be patient, and hangs up on me. I KNOW!!!!!!! So, I immediately call back and ask to speak to the owner again. I tell her that not only is my water not on like she said it would be, but that her bitchy receptionist HUNG UP on me. She said that both would be taken care of. Mom needed to go ahead and leave, and so walked out the door. About 5 seconds later, she opened the door again and told me to check the water. The guy was outside and it should be on. It was! YAY! Now to figure out a way to get the bill paid on time without so much hassle. The local grocery store doesn't seem to be able to take our payments. Mailing them checks doesn't work. Their online bill pay site doesn't take our account number EVER. And there's no way we're driving up to their office every month for a $30 bill. My idea was to send them the check next time with a return receipt. That way we have PROOF that they received the payment, so they can't tell us they didn't. *growl*

5. It's going to be 80 degrees outside today. It was in the 60s yesterday, and a high of 59 on Monday. From freezing to 55 at night in the span of 2 days. I can't keep up. Short sleeves today after wool coat and scarf on Monday.

6. Since I don't have the lidocaine patches, I've had to improvise. Mom found some stuff at Walgreens that is a gel with lidocaine in it. (Burn Jel Plus, if you want to know - it's useful for more than burns.) So, now I'm sitting here with gauze pads soaked in this gel stuck to my eyebrows and temples. I have to remember to take them off before seeing anyone but family. Thankfully, the gel has enough lido in it to make a difference. Go Mom ingenuity!

7. Okay. I think that's it.

8. Oh. I forgot. Mom thinks that Cole is sick. Sis and I are to keep an eye on him and take him to the vet with our non-existent monies if necessary. I really think he's fine. We were using cheap WalMart cat food. Now that we've changed back to the expensive(r) brand, I think all the kitties will be better.

9. Okay, I'm really done now.

10. Number 10!

sis, shitty-ass-shityness, health, mom, weather, kitties, headaches, meds, sleep, house, doctors
