I've had a number of rough nights this week, and only one was on account of catching Armageddon on TV and staying up to watch it. Usually I'm not really one for angst or sad stories, but that movie in one of the few exceptions to the rule. It gets to me every time but it's so good. •  My writing is really progressing well. Over 2400 words yesterday and another 1900 today.  I'm on the second to last scene of the chapter, and the end is in sight!

I spent the better part of early early Saturday morning with a fly swatter in my hand attempting to 'take care of' a renegade pest that had somehow made it into my bedroom.  Several times I had thought to have completed the task only to have it fly by right when I was relaxing for bed ...  needless to say I wasn't going to get a wink until it wasn' ( Read more... )

Before I immediately launch into my delayed report, I did want to say that I ended up seeing two movies in the theatres last month.  Rush Hour 3, and Superbad.  Neither met my expectations (that I probably set pretty high), Rush gave me nothing new and seemed to be made just for nostalgia purposes, while Superbad was a lot dirtier than I expected ( Read more... )

1) This has come as a big surprise to me, but Shrek 2 has jumped onto my list of top favorite movies. I know a movie has got me good when it has a scene that gives me goosebumps, and dang that rescue scene near the end had me going. Unfortunately I was at the DMV all morning, then at work all afternoon.  But it's still nice to come home, turn on Cinemax and find them going through all 6 Star Wars movies in celebration of the day.  Caught the end of ROTS, watched some of A New Hope, and am about to log off to watch the rest of Empire before I finally go to sleep ( Read more... )
