Pro Tip: A boss who thinks her email is broken when she just needs to resize the window = job security for an IT person.
The car and I took a little trip up to the dealership this morning to find out why the key suddenly decided not to turn in the ignition. Zach could get it working after fiddling with it for a bit, but I wasn't having much luck. Turns out the tumblers are just wearing out. They put some lubricant in it and it's working OK for now. Fixing it would require replacing the ignition switch and rekeying the car, which is a $600 job and is NOT going to happen at the moment.
There's also something screwy with the airbag on the passenger side. The seat's supposed to sense when someone's sitting there so it knows when to turn the airbag on, but it seems to think there's someone there permanently. Fixing this misconception would be an additional $1300. Uh, no. The seat will have to remain ignorant.
I did replace the burned out headlight, though. Whee!
Got my LFWS piece turned in. I was actually kind of happy with it, although I'm really worried I strayed too far from the prompt. We'll see, though. The main reason I entered wasn't to win, but to keep myself writing, so I'm happy with just not getting voted out. ;-)
LFWS is the only writing I've been doing lately. I had an idea for a new long fic, but it's not really going anywhere, and even the shorter pieces have been a struggle. Could just be burnout after finishing my big fic - I still really miss working on it. I'm not letting myself stop writing, though; the last time I stopped, I didn't start again for four years.
I need to redesign my journal this weekend. OK, let's be honest - I need to *design* my journal this weekend. ;-) Or at the very least, snag a real layout from somewhere. I wish I had an eye for design. I want to play with making icons, and I have some fanmix ideas floating around that I want to do cover art for. I was playing around last night, and discovered Photoshop brushes again. This could be problematic. I may not come up for air for days. ;-) So many pretties!!!
