Dear Self:

Next time you're tempted by the ranty goodness, remember

• Outrage is an addiction. You are powerless over it and you need to leave it alone.
• Fandom and online life in general are best when you are having fun and being creative
• Fandom friends are great friends!
• You like to write the kinds of stories you like to write
• You like to read the kinds of stories you like to read
• Podfic is also fun
• It's fun and productive to talk about the craft of writing
• Squeeing about canon source material and characters is good, too
• Analysis and critique of canon source material? Also awesome
• If it feels bad to you, it's probably bad for you
• Fandom isn't your job, so it's okay not to do it on the days when it doesn't feel good to you
• When fandom's not fun anymore, you are doing it wrong.

Just follow these guidelines, Self, and you will be much, much happier.
