Been in Paris for a few days now. Uhm. What to say? I don't know. I didn't like it at first, the people just weren't very welcomong but I have warmed up to it. English is spoken quite a bit less than the other places we have been so the language barrier has been a bit harder. Ah well. The hotel sucks. The people don't all speak English; and although breakfast is quite good, it isn't filling AT ALL. Two crossants, sometimes this other bread, cheese butter and jam, and coffee or tea. The room is alright; an actual bathtub that is big enough for me to stretch out in completely, toilet, sink...and a TV! In other countries American shows were subtitled to whateve language but here the dub everything. Curse you, the French! They have Pocky here though; it's called Mikado but it is made by the same brand. The light bulb buned out in our hotel room the first day, we have reported it twice, but it is still out. So annoying, but we have two lamps at least. It just sucks that the room is so badly lit because of that. The hotel is a bit out of the way, but the Paris metro is very big and there is a stop close by. It's just like the London Underground.
I can't remember our first day here, but the second day we- wait; I'll ask Louis. Right! We walked around, learned the city, and went inside Notre Dame Cathedral. It had these really high ceilings and it was just really amazing looking inside. I tried to get pictures of it but it was dim and I didn't want to use flash; they kind of turned out. Alot of religious monuments, and things. Pretty cool place. Yesterday we went to the Louvre. Oh my god. Three wings, 4 levels each, at of every culture, time period, EVERYTHING. There was a freakin' Mideival castle in there. I took a lot of pictures. Amazing place. It took us 7ish hours to go through it all and I KNOW we missed stuff. I have to go back there. Just wow.
Today we ventured out to the Zoo and the Picasso Museum. I actually like Cubism more after that; some of his artwork is really amazing. The zoo had some baby animals, emus, lots of monkeys(one tried to screw another one, kinda funny to see), but no big cats. Maybe we just missed them.
Tomorrow is our last nght here. We plan on going to the Eifel Tower and Paris Opera House(the one Phantom of the Opera is based off of!) and maybe another random museum. We've been to most of the public gardens and parks so...yeah. It's been fun. After that we go on an overnight ferry, land in Ireland, train to Dublin and fly home 6 nights later!
It has been amazing.
