Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Soulsilver/Heartgold came out in Japan today (or tomorrow, without the time difference). I am now faced with a serious problem, namely do I or do I not wait for the American release? It's a good mark of how ecstatic I am about the entire thing that this is even a debate, but nonetheless I'm sort of wondering if I should just go and buy the game in Japanese, despite not knowing how to read it, and then just like. Getting an English/Japanese dictionary with a character chart and trying to pick it up on the fly. And spending a lot of time consulting it. 'Okay now, that looks like - but no, it could be- no, I think I was right the first time only that doesn't make sense....'
On the positive side I'd probably be able to start figuring out what people on pixiv and tegaki were saying, also it'd be a big step towards that desire of mine to actually learn to speak the language.
In other pokemon related news I finally picked up Diamond again and have been playing it and dang, I really need to figure out some place that I can connect to wireless and actually play with other people (and maybe, for the first time in MY ENTIRE POKEMON CAREER, be able to get such beasts as Golem and Machamp and Alakazam). Still, I haven't done too bad just by myself. The current pokedex is Seen: 342, Obtained: 268. And that's just me and my Diamond and Fire Red, since those are the only games that I actually own (how did this happen? Oh yeah I didn't even own a gameboy until like, two years ago THANKS DAD). Well, that and about 2 days of just frantically collecting what pokemon I could in Emerald before I had to return it to the video store, which was made difficult by the fact that half the time when I tried turning on my DS the game wouldn't start.
I love my Umbreon. I love her so much. Also, I don't know if I can properly articulate just how much I want a shiny umbreon. omg, they are so pretty. SO. PRETTY. AND THEY HAVE BLUE RINGS AND GOLD EYES AND THEY EVOLVE AT NIGHT AND SO IT MATCHES MY NAME AND eeeeeeeee. Seriously if I could only have one pokemon ever, I would want that pokemon to be a shiny umbreon. Eevee and the eeveelutions are some of my favorites of all time; Umbreon might just be my favorite. But, even though she's not shiny, I love my Umbreon. Plus, it's fun knocking out pokemon 10 levels higher than her with her.
I'm also fishing for Feebas. Getting really tired of looking for the stupid thing. Wondering how I'll get enough berries for the poffins to make it evolve when some miracle happens and I manage to find one before my patience runs out (again) and I go to do more interesting things then fishing every single square in a stupid lake like 5 times to make sure that they aren't hiding there.
On the subject of the latest 5Ds episode, my fangirl heart is happy.
THAT WAS TOTALLY A DATE, YES, AND IT WAS TOTALLY YUUSEI'S IDEA. DO YOU REALIZE WHAT THIS MEANS? THE FIRST REAL DATE IN ANY YUGIOH SERIES AND IT'S MY OTP. I mean, unless there was stuff in GX which doesn't count, it doesn't count lalalalala, the universe skipped from DM to 5Ds- the only ones I'm thinking of in any of the shows thus far are Atem/Anzu in DM, which wasn't really a date-date but more Yuugi shoving Atem off to do stuff with Anzu day, and Jack/Carley, which I say didn't count either as it was blackmail.
Oh and I guess Ushio/Mikage if you stretched, because though it was amazing and adorable, it wasn't really planned as a date. They were both just sort of following Jack around and went on all the rides together. Mikage is totally crushing on Jack in any case, so she'd probably go D: if you suggested the idea to her. Ushio would probably blush. Man I love Ushio.
Anyway. Yuusei/Aki at the roller skating rink eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee that was so cute.
Aki looks so pretty in her riding duel suit. And her d-wheel is awesome too. Where did her parents go though? I mean, if Yuusei wants to build her a d-wheel all well and good (heavens knows he's proven that his machines can stand up to some pretty heavy stresses, I mean jeez) but you'd think that her dad would have stepped in to try and get her a new d-wheel or insisted on getting new parts for Yuusei to work with, at least, if he knew what was being planned. Aki is, after all, his little girl who he just BARELY got back from the evil cult leader out to use her to take over the world after having like, barely talked to her for half her life. One would assume he'd have assumed the role of hyper-protective father. But no, for some reason not. It was just like OH HEY AKI HAS A FAMILY and then you never see them again. They're clearly dead. I mean, they didn't come to watch her take the test for her license or anything, and come on, both of them can't be that busy. Her mom never really seemed to do anything, except stay and home and be kinda mouseish. I guess her dad might be off on business, but I still don't see why her mom wouldn't have been there.
Oh, and - Yuusei builds her a d-wheel. HE BUILDS HER A D-WHEEL. I don't know how he found the time. Clearly the power of true love was at work here?
ANYWAY, on the subject of the episode which was amazing and adorable and amazing, I fail to see why so many people seem to think that Aki/Yuusei being fluffy rather than sadomasochistic torturefest 20XX is out of character. Did everyone just like, manage to miss all that character development? And the fact that Aki apparently hated hurting people back when she couldn't help it and isn't angry any more and loves her life now. Why the heck would she beat up her boyfriend? With the possible exception of him asking her to do so, if he decides he likes it, but even then she'd be really reluctant and hesitant, at least at first. She is perfectly aware that she has accidentally hospitalized scores of people in the past (and I still say she's probably killed people too; I'd be really surprised if there hadn't been at least one death) and she wouldn't want to do that to someone she loves. And yes, she is happy now. Six months ago just about all of the dreams that she thought were utterly impossible came true. Why shouldn't she be happy?
Anyway, dork that I am, I spent almost the entire episode just going eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (no, really, you should have heard me it was ridiculous). I was also really happy at Aki showing off new cards, because they were fun. I want Splendid Rose and Revival Rose.
I did buy some new cards. Very little interesting, though I did get Dark Verdure. I don't think I had that one before, did I? Anyway, that and a bunch of cards I don't really want so much since it is Aki's deck that I'm trying to collect. Wheeeeeeeeeeee.
Also, apparently this is a thing for me. I say nothing for weeks and then just like, explode with all the pent up words and write you all NOVELS.
...
I need pokemon icons.
