Pulling together 2/?

Dec 22, 2012 21:17

Not a spoiler, but an inside joke if you've seen "You'd Better Watch Out."

Twenty minutes later the team was in Vance's office while Ducky and Vance listened to the whole story. As Gibbs had suggested, they were both immediately supportive, even if they were surprised. Ducky, of course, had questions.

A bitter-sweet chapter that's more sweet than bitter. You've kept a really good balance. I really love the way you write the relationships between these characters, particularly Gibbs' understanding of how to find a way to help Tim in a way he'll find acceptable, while making the best use of everyone's need and willingness to have a role in helping. Also I like your part about Vance pulling McGee aside to make sure he's under no illusions of the difficulties he and his daughter may face. I look forward to more of this story.

Thank you, I've really worked at keeping that balance, I'm glad it reads the right way. Gibbs is a more practical, hands on kind of guy who speaks more with his actions than with his words, for sure.

I wanted there to be an underlying message without getting overly political and Vance is the right person for that. Of to work for most of the day, but I'm working on the last scene - so if I get home early enough I might get it done, but it'll probably be Monday morning by the time I get it posted. Thanks again.

Sorry I didn't get to read this yesterday. Present packing marathon exhausted me. LOL. More wrapping today. Blah. Anyway, great chapter! I got a little teary-eyed from the whole team's response to helping Tim get squared away. So awesome. And I sporfled over Gibbs' color-challenged remark. Will beg and grovel in complete adoration for more!

Love and cherries,

That's okay, I haven't even started wrapping mine. Heck, I'm only about half way through the shopping. We're not actually celebrating until the 29th, so it's not as bad as it sounds and I'm going to use the after Christmas sales to my advantage.

Love it when the team pulls together like this, each using their own strength's to help Tim, like Tony and Ducky taking over the color decisions because, luckily, Gibbs knows he sucks in that department.

"Don't think all your furniture is gonna fit in the back of my truck, Elflord"
Haha! Thanks for using this nickname and making me laugh so hard! :o)

one kiss sandwich from Ziva and Abby
And this. SO cute.

This story really makes me smile a lot, despite the, well, let's say unpleasant background. But the love and warmth weighs much more right now than the past and, maybe, future problems. At least for me; fandom love is much needed now. Thanks for giving it :o)

Yep, it's all about the love and building a family. I know what you mean about fandom love - I'm so tired of "fans" that have to absolutely destroy all of the other characters other than their favorite.

Oh yes! I mean, a little "destruction" in fic, when needed for a solid plot for example--that's a different thing. But I get the feeling there is way too much wank and flaming out there, and that simply sucks. I'm not used to that. My main fandom is teeny-tiny, and we are all loving family over there.

Well. Much blahblah. I should rather keep reading =)

Agreed. My other fandom is small and very close so it's a bit of a shock at times to see how nasty it can get. If I see one more "Tim and Ziva go to jail for how mean they were to Tony in Dead Air" fic...

Heck, I even got slammed for not having Warming the Heart all about Tony. How dare I even bother listing him as a character if I hurt McGee in the story? Sigh.
