(no subject)
Well, I finally talked to Steve, alone, and private. Our department has always been based on the fact that we're all young and like to laugh and have a good time all the time, so while we're working our asses off all the time, we can at least laugh while we're at it. Steve hasn't been joining in on that 'fun' part of it, and everyone has noticed the difference, so I finally just went up to him and said, "we have to talk." He knows whenever I say that it means there's a problem with our department, so he said ok and we went outside to talk for a bit. I told him in simple terms that he's been a big grouch lately and that everyone's been asking me what's wrong. I told him how we used to all love working together in our department, but lately that everyone almost dreads when he's comming in because we know he's just going to be in a pissy mood. We talked for a good hour, and he apologized to me, explaining that he was upset by my new boyfriend, and also that his step-dad was in the hospital with cancer and he was worried about him. We didn't really come to a conclusion on the issue of me having a boyfriend, but I've already kind of broken things off with Curtis, because I really don't like him as much as I like Steve (well, the old, fun, happy-go-lucky Steve anyway), and it wasn't fair to Curtis. I'm just going to have to wait and see what happens with the DH position and see where things go from there.
Jaime and I went out for drinks the other night (she leaves for LA in 6 days....I'm sooo sad...), and we had a blast!! We got all dressed up (something I rarely do anymore), and it was just us two women out on the town. We ended up at Bourbon Street, listening to a band and just having a blast! I think we're going out again on Thursday, so that should be fun. I'm really going to miss that girl. We were talking, and I may take my vacation from work in September and go see her in Los Angeles. That will be sooo much fun, I've never been to Cali. :)
I'm also going to a Sox game with Sherry on July 6th. I can't wait. My uncle works at the park, so I got REALLY good tickets. It's nice to have some plans for the summer!
