I don't think "unconcentratable" is a word, but it's how I feel at the moment so I'm going to use it.
After Thursday's midnight show of Pirates of the Caribbean, my sleep schedule is out of whack. I therefore did not awake today until 10:45 and consequently was not ready for the day until 3PM. I had a major bout of chronic distraction which prevented me from finishing my exercise routine. The cat. He was just so fluffy. I had to pet him. And take pictures of him. Several times.
My mission for the day was to figure out how to hook up my keyboard to my computer. I had no success whatsoever. I went to Best Buy and bought a headset microphone with which to record vocals, and possibly the keyboard if I can hook it up to an amplifier. I would really prefer to play the music part of any song I come up with, but it might not be possible for awhile. I'm not really afraid of using the computer to create music, although all I have for programs are Noteworthy Composer and Audacity. They're both really useful and sound lifelike, so I think they'll work fine temporarily. Any songs I compose I can practice on the keyboard and I will eventually purchase a better electronic piano at a later date.
Tomorrow is dedicated to song writing. Although Celestina Warbeck is currently winning the poll, I did some re-researching on her and I don't think she's right for me. She's supposed to be older. For instance, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley danced to one of her songs when they were 18. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else. In second place right now is Penelope Clearwater followed by Susan Bones. I have not voted in the poll myself, and if no one else votes before Monday at 9PM, my vote will tie the two. I prefer Hufflepuff to Ravenclaw. I don't know why, but I do. So, essentially, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with Susan Bones as my character.
The one thing I'm not going to do is limit myself to songs about being a Hufflepuff or stuff that's happened to the character. I was eager to perform as Celestina Warbeck because it meant being able to write lyrics about general wizard type stuff. But that doesn't mean I can't do the same and still do that as someone else.
It is also 16 days until we leave for Las Vegas. I haven't done any research for my book in a couple days, and I probably won't get to it in the next few days either. I want to make some music before we leave. I'm GOING to make some music before I leave. It's gonna be good, and people are going to like it. I mean, hopefully. And I want to meet those people. Because it's fun.
Ah, man, Lumos. I can't wait. And Las Vegas? How cool is that? Even if it is the end of July.
Anyway, I went to the midnight show of Pirates. Michael and I had to sit in the second to front row. We were so close that we had to turn our heads from side to side in order to follow things across the screen. But the movie was freaking awesome. Non-stop action and humor at the same time. It was over the top but excellent at the same time. I don't know if I like it as much as the first (that one was just perfection), but it's still really awesome.
Yesterday I helped
khittie sort through some of her stuff. I wish we had gotten more done, but I think I assisted a little bit anyway. She made me dinner. It was yummy and very appreciated. I showed her
Ask A Ninja. I had only seen it the night before, courtesy of Sean. I laughed so hard I had tears running down my face.
I think that's about it for stuff I've been up to. If you want something else to read, I made this list of
100 Things I Love at myspace. Check it out.
G'night!
