So today commemorates the storming of Normandy in 1944, a moment in time far too important and serious for a man who coined the phrase "Stone Hengeoy Yourself!" to discuss. Instead, as is protocol, I will link you to some pages, and strongly recommend you read them.
Wikipedia EntryA Good Resource Unofficial Website I am also going to talk about Drive-in Theaters, as today is also Drive-in Theater Day and I've been treating you badly recently.
So I've only been to a Drive-in once in my life. I was around thirteen our fourteen and we were going to see Anaconda, (I may have gone one other time, but I cannot for the life of me remember when it was or what I saw.) It was fun, me and my family got in the car, drove down to some outer suburb, drove through the toll booth thing and bought our ticket. The skinny teenager directed us to our screen and we drove toward it. We parked, turned our radio to the correct frequency to hear the film, and sat back to watch it. There was something exiting about the whole experience, it made going to the movies such an outing, such an event, it was wonderful.
These days there are very few Drive-ins left, this is unfortunate. But I suppose they swapped ease for enjoyment, and who can really blame them.
Happy Drive-in Day
