I was raised as a Unitarian (my Father was a lapsed Catholic and my Mother had given up on Presbyterianism and she is the one who joined the Unitarians). In college I always ended up dating Catholic boys and I was very much impressed with Pope Paul VI (1963-1978) and Vatican II... So I converted to Roman Catholic in December 1973 before marrying in the church in February 1974 (and I got a annulment from the church in 1979).... But Pope John Paul II undid a lot of the more progressive aspects of Vatican II: marginalized women and made the anti-abortion stance a big political deal in the church, so as time passed I stopped attending. I now no longer consider myself to be a Roman Catholic because I feel too much alienated from the Church. So when asked about my belief system I have to say that it falls (for the most part) into a Buddhist/agnostic area.... TMI huh? lol
Yeah, I've become really allergic to perfumes/incense and I avoid strong scents because it will bring on a big headache.
